Head of Immunology

Intellect Neurosciences, Inc. (www.intellectns.com) is developing preclinical and clinical-stage proprietary drug candidates with the potential to slow, arrest or prevent Alzheimer's disease and related neurological and ocular disorders.

The Company, located in NYC, is seeking a Senior Immunologist to head its immunology programs. This position reports directly to the VP of Drug Development. Major strengths should include:
1) Management of early phase programs - assay and process development; 2) Management of two or more vaccine projects simultaneously; 3) Assay transfers to outside contract facilities; 4) Design and preclinical evaluation of vaccines; 5) Evaluation of adjuvants; and 6) Liaison and management of outside collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and Academic Research Organizations (ARO's); 7) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment; 8) Good organizational skills

Basic Qualifications:
1) Ph.D. in immunology; 2) Experienced in clinical immunology with a minimum of 5 years experience managing a laboratory; 3) Prior pharmaceutical industry experience and/or academic experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstratable leadership, innovative, possesses creative abilities and good communication skills with an ability to design and deliver scientific presenations. Self-motivated and effective in a small company environment.
Primary Responsibilities: Testing and optimizing drug candidates, formulation development and adjuvants selection. The Senior Immunologist is also accountable for the design, implementation and delivery of all immunological work required in support of the Company's pipeline.
